Thanks to the new aluminium-hybrid construction, the two-seater from Zuffenhausen lost 55 kilograms. At the same time, the wheelbase increased by 6 centimetres. A revised chassis, around 7 kW more power and various improvements in detail ensure a driving experience that makes the hearts of Porsche fans beat in time with the six-cylinder aspirator. Porsche has also further refined the design of the roadster in the third generation. The most striking features are the new side indents and the flowing lines that meet at the rear at the wind breakaway edge, as well as a range of new Porsche 981 wheels.

For PS fans who want more power and a tighter set-up, the Boxster S (315 PS) has been available since 2012 and the Boxster GTS (330 PS) since 2014. However, the crowning glory of the third model generation is the Boxster Spyder, available since 2015. With 375 hp and 420 Nm of torque, it is by far the most powerful Boxster - and the last of its kind with a naturally aspirated engine.
